Luggage Review: TravelPro Platinum 3 Rolling Carry On Luggage

As THE biggest fan of carry on luggage I naturally love TravelPro luggage because they are the inventors of the original “carry on/roll aboard”. The Platinum 3 rolling carry on is pure genius at every turn.

TravelPro Platinum 3 Ergonomics
If I recommended on piece of carry on luggage in general it would be the TravelPro Platinum 3. For true ergonomics: a rollaboard should be pushed and not pulled. When you pull luggage you actually create a twisting motion that will begin to strain your back. So with my TravelPro Platinum 3, I do a combination of pushing and pulling, especially on longer trips that require several plane changes. The Travel Pro Platinum 3 has a new ergonomic handle that adjusts to the way your body twists when pulling carry on luggage. When you finally lay down in your hotel you room you'll feel the difference in your back.

TravelPro Platinum 3 Accessibility
The TravelPro Platinum 3 has fold-out compartments that I think are essential for keeping passport, ID and ticket handy. I also liked the Travel Pro Platinum 3 fold out compartments when I was on the train in Germany where security frequently checks your traveling information. The Germans have a great appreciation for well engineered luggage.

TravelPro Platinum 3 Pockets
The TravelPro Platinum 3 has a large "wet pocket" that I like because I do lots of wetland photo journalism and need a place to stuff wet socks and the like. I like the two exterior mesh pockets on the TravelPro Platinum 3 as well as the two end pockets that are natural candidates for a cell phone or IPOD. You can put your laptop in the padded laptop case and still find that it’s easily accessible when travailing. You won't need to unpack just to retrieve your laptop
