Large discount chains
such as WalMart and Target offer
inexpensive luggage sets useful
for the occasional traveler.
WalMart, offer a lovely four or
five bag luggage sets from
American Tourister. But these
types of luggage sets did not
pass my personal test for
durability. Wheels and zippers
where the worst offenders in
most luggage sets offered by
large chains. ITP Luggage has a
colorful low priced hard side
luggage that looks interesting.
From the specs I have read it
should be worthwhile but I have
not test one of their full
luggage sets yet. |

Luggage Review:
Luggage Sets are better than pillow cases
My parents took their five children on
elaborate Station Wagon adventure trips
to see the charted and
uncharted corners of America. We didn't own a
luggage set and we packed our clothes in - a
pillow case. As an adult I can't recommend this
but...
We would arrive at a hotel an my father
would not let us go in to help him check
in. I always figured he was trying to
get a better rate. |

Hotels at that time had "additional
occupant fees" instead of a single room
rate. I found out
later he did want anyone to see us dragging our
pillow cases full of clothes around. I have
never been smart enough to be embarrassed about
this myself but I can tell you when I bought my
first luggage set I experienced the thrill of
rolling my luggage set to the check in counter
and the not so great thrill of tipping the bag
boy for every piece of luggage in my new luggage
set. |
A great luggage set actually enhances
the travel experience. I have bought
each of my
children have their own luggage set and they will
never know the entertainment of tearing the
bottom out of their pillow cases and spilling
their clothes all over the hotel parking lot. I
myself have become a luggage set fanatic. I
especially like Diane Von luggage sets
because she is my favorite designer. I am
planning to give her pink luggage set as a gift
this Christmas. Not all our nights where spent
in hotels. |

So of them
where spent at campgrounds all over America. The
most memorable was the Grand Canyon, Carlsbad
Caverns, and Painted forest. The trip took 3
weeks and went from California to North
Carolina. It is on these types of trip I learned
the magic of traveling light. How to look great
and have the right gear to stop and do anything
on a moments notice - from hiking the
Grand Canyon to expensive Sushi Restaurants in
San Francisco. |
