Luggage on Cruises

The curbside porters handling your carry on luggage are usually not an employee of the cruise line to you may want to carry your own baggage. If the ship leaves with out your luggage – then you’re without luggage. So what can you carry? Maybe an over the shoulder tote and some wheel aboard luggage. One or two pieces at the most. Also remember cruise cabins are small and there is not much space for extras. Put ID on your luggage and where you will stay once on the cruise –just incase you and your porter are separated. Cruise still allow you lock your luggage so this maybe something you want to take advantage of. Provided that all goes smoothly with your luggage remember to tip your porter a $1.00 per piece of luggage.

What to pack? Think Casual.

Mostly shorts a few pairs of slacks
Sunglasses and Sun Hat
Blouses
Sandals
Sneakers or good walking shoes
Sweater or jacket for cool evenings
Rain Jacket
A few piece of evening wear if you want to dress up for dinner.

> Pack your regular toiletries don’t forget motion sickness medication and sunscreen. Don’t forget your birth control if you take it – many good honeymoon plans have been slightly alter on this account.

> Some Cruises have washers and dryers but they are pretty pricey. You are on vacation – don’t do laundry.

> Guests are prohibited from bringing alcoholic beverages for consumption on board. Skip the vodka food coloring in Scope bottle. Drink on a cruise are expensive but worth every penny.
