What
is the size limit for carry on luggage on an
airplane?
Updated: 9/05/06
Good rule of thumb is 22" and 40 lbs.
But
think about the size of plane you are flying in.
If you are taking a small prop plane you should consider a carry on no
bigger than a shoebox. If you are flying on a
large commercial jetliner then the guide below
should help. When I called the Airlines to ask
these question I detect a distinct undertone of
aggravation with customer trying to pack their
house in their carry on luggage. Part of the joy
of travel is sloughing off the need for all our
"comforts of home". Be adventurous and pack
light!
